The moisturiser that allergists and dermatologists recommend when literally everything else breaks you out. Vanicream was created by a Mayo Clinic-affiliated dermatologist specifically for patients with multiple chemical sensitivities. The formula contains ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and squalane - all the good stuff - without ANY of the common irritants: no fragrance, no dyes, no lanolin, no parabens, no formaldehyde releasers, no propylene glycol. It's the cleanest moisturiser formula on the market. It scores A (87/100) because every ingredient is there for a reason and nothing is there to irritate. At ~15 EUR, it's the thinking person's CeraVe alternative for the most sensitive skin types.
How to use
Apply to face AM and PM after cleansing. The texture is lightweight lotion, similar to CeraVe PM. Works under SPF, compatible with all actives.
Who is it for?
Best for: extremely sensitive skin, multiple chemical sensitivities, eczema, dermatitis, post-allergic-reaction skin, anyone who reacts to everything. Also great for minimalists who want the cleanest formula possible.
What to expect
Immediate: hydration without any irritation. That's the entire promise. It does one thing (moisturise without irritating) and does it perfectly. Don't expect: anti-aging, brightening, oil control. It's the Switzerland of moisturisers.
Common mistakes
1. Expecting active treatment (it's a base moisturiser, not a treatment). 2. Thinking it's only for sensitive skin (it's great for everyone as a safe base).
